Age levels for care:

Laughter and Love Daycare offers care for children ages six weeks to four years.

​NOTE:  CHILDREN MUST TRANSITION TO PRE-SCHOOL BY AGE FOUR.

Laughter and Love does not accept non-immunized children. 

Certified by State of OR: NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct with Commitment to a Professional Code of Ethics. Priority in this facility is NAEYC Principle 1:1, which states:

Above all, we shall not harm children. We shall not participate in practices that are emotionally damaging, physically harmful, disrespectful, degrading, dangerous, exploitative, or intimidating to children. This principal has precedence over all others in the Code (NAEYC, 2005).

Parents have their own area for checking in on their child's day.
On the Parent page are:
1) weekly video collages
2) important notes and/or updates; and
3) their child's daily bathroom/feeding info.

​We have daycare cats. Indie is elderly, so she spends her day upstairs. Kookie (left) and Ellie (right) have no qualms about spending time downstairs. The children are taught that Kookie & Ellie are non-touchable so that they don't attempt to pull on their tail or do something that might cause them to be afraid of being downstairs.

* outdoor time is either 11:40 or 4:00. We go out earlier on summer days and later on cooler days. We do not go out on cold, wet, snowy days.

Infants have their own special schedule based on their needs. Once they get older, they will begin to follow the toddler schedule.

This daycare protected by security cameras.

Because there is always a risk of a frivolous lawsuit or vindictive reporting should a parent be dismissed from my care, my daycare is monitored by security systems. A frivolous reporting occurred years ago (none since), which prompted the need for the cameras. A parent filed a complaint with the state--six months after departing my facility, on good terms--because he had difficulty with the IRS related to a child tax credit and claimed I refused to assist with it. Because he was angry with the IRS, he lashed out at my facility claiming I was abusing children in my care. The state determined, rather quickly, that the accusation was unfounded and vindictive. Either way, I won't take a chance again, so any accusation is met with factual evidence.
